Job Types: Full-time

Accountant

Responsible for day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, preparing journal entries and assisting with the quarter-end close process. The preferred candidate will have a business degree and accounting experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle accounts payable / receivable
  • Payroll
  • Process invoices, direct deposits, cheques and wire payments if needed.
  • Issues and reviews client invoices to ensure they are in accordance with the contract terms.
  • Setup new vendors and maintain vendor files.
  • Prepare accounts payable and general journal entries.
  • Process and file government remittances (HST).
  • Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations as required.
  • File and maintain accounts payable and general journal entry records.
  • Keep track and log of various finance expenses.
  • Performs monthly reconciliations of billed/unbilled vs. revenue, researches and resolves unexplained reconciling items.
  • Assist with audit requests, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge in ADP Payroll is an asset.
  • 3 – 5 years Project Accounting experience.
  • Quickbooks or other Accounting Software.
  • Accounting background with experience in accounts payable is preferred.
  • Post-secondary studies in a business-related field is preferred.
  • Strong time management, analytical and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

We are currently looking for a Concrete Finisher to join our growing team!

Reporting directly to the Forman – Concrete Crew, the Concrete Finisher will be responsible for smoothing and finishing the surfaces of poured concrete using multiple methods and a variety of hand and power tools.

Education:

  • Not required, certificate or diploma is an asset.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Spread, compact, level and smooth concrete using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds and floats.
  • Monitor how environmental factors (wind, heat, cold) affects the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
  • Mold expansion joints using edging tools, jointers and a straightedge.
  • Apply sealants or other protective coatings where necessary.
  • Repair, resurface and replace existing concrete structures.

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • A sound knowledge of concrete operations from planning and forming to the finished product
  • The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • The ability to kneel, balance, climb crouch and crawl
  • The ability to lift heavy objects (80+ lbs)
  • A strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • A safety conscious attitude and willingness to follow all company practices and procedures

We are currently looking for an Dozer Operator to join our growing team!

Duties, include but not limited to:

  • Operating bulldozer grading equipment to fine grade, spread & push piles of sand, soil and aggregate materials.
  • Operate the dozer and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Understand, interpret and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
  • Drive Dozer in successive passes over construction surface to raise or lower terrain to specified grade, following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.
  • Use the Dozer to level soil, move rock and debris, and scoop soil.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the grader.
  • Ensure dozer is in proper gear, and is not moving too fast for working conditions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings.
  • Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma is an asset.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work (e.g. hand and power tools, etc.)
  • Ability to handle the weight handling of mass up to 45kg (100lbs)
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and best practices within areas of responsibility.
  • Satisfactory health and attendance.
  • Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s licence, have an acceptable driving record as well as having a means of transportation.

We are currently looking for a Landscape Labourer to join our growing team!

As a Landscape Labourer, you will work on commercial and residential job sites under a foreman as part of a crew.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on a landscape crew of up to 5+
  • Lifting required up to 60 lbs.
  • Work safely, wear appropriate personal protective equipment and demonstrate hazard awareness at all times.
  • Participate in training sessions and be committed to ongoing learning and safe practices.
  • Participate in meetings.
  • Demonstrate high level of professionalism.
  • Weed, prune and trim trees and plants; Remove litter and garbage; Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees; Lay sod or seed; Cart and spread topsoil and other materials; Assist with landscape constructions; Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens; Rake and collect refuse.

Qualifications:

  • Some field or outside labour experience (construction, landscaping, gardening, general labour); willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Operate various hand tools, power tools, and equipment used to complete carpentry and masonry duties, including circular saw, table saw, drills, and other tools used for measuring, cutting, fastening and drilling
  • G or G2 driver’s license in good standing (clean abstract) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of plant and hardscape (asset).
  • Experience with stone saw (asset).
