Financial Accountant

Location

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic accountant to join our growing company. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable (including payroll), accounts vendor and supplier receivable, monitor and record bank sales and reconciliations, and ensure all financial models, records, and related materials are kept up-to-date and stored properly.

Responsibilities

Below are some of the responsibilities our accountant is expected to assume in their position, but not limited to:

  • Full cycle processing of all incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable: ensure to establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
  • Process direct deposits, issuances of cheques and wire payments.
  • Process and issue payments to suppliers and progress draw invoices to vendors.
  • Preparation of Financial Statements: manage and generate financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity, and cash flow.
  • Ensure that there are no inconsistencies in the record keeping within the company: make sure all records are kept and maintained in an orderly fashion, to ensure that the respective receipts can be presented when required.
  • Helping with the preparation of tax returns: ensure that they can provide information requested by third party.
  • Helping auditors: ensure that auditors have all the resources in terms of facilitating the audit process. This includes providing all the resources that are necessary for the auditors to reach a decision in terms of audit process, so that they can conclusively decide based on the supporting evidence.
  • Faithful representation of accounting records: ensure that they do not understate or overstate any part of the financial statements. They are supposed to ensure that all the relevant information is included in the financial statements.
  • Keeping account books and systems up to date.
  • Examining expenses submitted by employees.
  • Be responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with company management.
  • Payroll processing in ADP System.
  • Monthly Reconciliation of all Banks and posting of transactions not recorded in the books.
  • From time to time, be expected to be part of projects and or special tasks as required and discussed with company management.

Qualifications & Skill Sets

Below are the qualifications expected of our accountant:

  • Post-Secondary studies in an accounting-related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting, book-keeping, or financial modeling.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong time management, analytical and multi-tasking skills.
  • General Math Skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Dozer Operator

We are currently looking for an Dozer Operator to join our growing team!

Duties, include but not limited to:

  • Operating bulldozer grading equipment to fine grade, spread & push piles of sand, soil and aggregate materials.
  • Operate the dozer and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Understand, interpret and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
  • Drive Dozer in successive passes over construction surface to raise or lower terrain to specified grade, following markings on grade stakes or hand signals.
  • Use the Dozer to level soil, move rock and debris, and scoop soil.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the grader.
  • Ensure dozer is in proper gear, and is not moving too fast for working conditions.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans and drawings.
  • Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma is an asset.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work (e.g. hand and power tools, etc.)
  • Ability to handle the weight handling of mass up to 45kg (100lbs)
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and best practices within areas of responsibility.
  • Satisfactory health and attendance.
  • Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s licence, have an acceptable driving record as well as having a means of transportation.

Reporting directly to the Forman – Concrete Crew, the Concrete Finisher will be responsible for smoothing and finishing the surfaces of poured concrete using multiple methods and a variety of hand and power tools.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Spread, compact, level and smooth concrete using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds and floats.
  • Monitor how environmental factors (wind, heat, cold) affects the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
  • Mold expansion joints using edging tools, jointers and a straightedge.
  • Apply sealants or other protective coatings where necessary.
  • Repair, resurface and replace existing concrete structures.

The Surveyor is responsible to assist for conducting field surveys in various aspects for construction of the project with high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented. Must handle with care of all instruments and accessories, and responsible to take the instrumentation from/to the field.

Responsibilities

Below are some of the responsibilities our accountant is expected to assume in their position, but not limited to:

  • Conduct day to day layout and grading tasks in accordance with project design and ensure measurement of correct distances.
  • Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities.
  • Mark and label survey points and record field data according to job specifications.
  • Maintain and verify site control points and local benchmarks.
  • Prepare layout data from digital design files competently.
  • Download and manage field survey data and make digital records ready for processing and documentation to implement quantity and as-built surveys in AutoCAD.
  • Provide clear survey notes and sketches for each control line and grade shot taken and check calculations.
  • Conduct field topographic survey pickups and troubleshoot survey layouts.
  • Coordinate field details, site inspections, and liaise with field superintendent.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring the quality control, safety, and environment programs.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Post Secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics or Civil Engineering.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of surveying, trigonometry, mapmaking, and the methods, principles, and practice of surveying.
  • Experience with the GPS and total station required.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in Construction surveying industry would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of engineering design and survey methods.
  • Strong Computer skills and the ability to use AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Available to travel to various projects.
  • Ability to climb over rough terrain.

Heavy-Duty Equipment, Transport and Fleet Vehicle Mechanic

You will be responsible for managing all repairs, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul, and maintain all equipment, tools and machinery used in construction, plus transport and fleet vehicles.

Responsibilities:

Below are some of the responsibilities the heavy-duty equipment, transport and fleet vehicle mechanic is expected to assume in their position, but not limited to:

  • Inspecting and perform repair work on bulldozers, graders, rock trucks and other heavy and small construction equipment for proper performance.
  • Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, notify and coordinate appropriate equipment manufacturer to further determine the best resolution and work efficiently to complete it.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools.
  • Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and equipment attachments such as blades, buckets, tracks, trailers.
  • Perform Brake and Safety Inspections.
  • Perform Fleet Maintenance on Pick Up Trucks.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance inspections bi-weekly if necessary and ensure all vehicle inspections are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Organize/record and complete all work orders for parts, material needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment that comply with Health & Safety regulations in the workplace.

Qualifications & Skill Sets:

Below are the qualifications expected for the heavy-duty equipment, transport, and fleet vehicle mechanic, but not limited to:

  • Minimum 3 years fleet and maintenance experience on heavy vehicles is an asset.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting is a requirement.
  • Strong knowledge working with hand tools, trucking, electricity, hydraulics, troubleshooting, diesel equipment, welding, automotive lubrication.
  • Possess a strong quality of attention to detail.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, a high degree of responsibility and accountability.
